About neat&bare
I’m Dax James, founder of neat&bare LLC. My wife and I run Manzanita Farm, a small farm in Georgia where we raise mini donkeys and Marsh Tacky horses.
neat&bare started with a simple idea: sell the most comfortable shirts you’ve ever worn, 100% made in the USA. For now, our tees come from Bayside, an American maker that grows, cuts and sews them right here at home. Someday we’ll make our own shirts from natural fibers like cotton and hemp, with the embroidery and screen printing done in-house.
But the shirts are only the start. The bigger vision is a place where buying American is something you get to experience. Picture one building with a textile shop, a BBQ restaurant, a distillery and a brewery. Next door, an equestrian center with a riding arena, trails, a campground and cabins where you can stay the night. It’s a place where you can watch your shirt get made, eat some brisket, raise a glass and ride off on a horse.
I know it’s a big dream. So was the one the Founding Fathers had. There’s a movie line I’ve heard a million times since I was a kid: “If you build it, they will come.”
So we’re building it, one shirt at a time. Thanks for being part of it.
